In just 90 minutes online, START teaches you to recognize when someone is thinking about suicide and connect them to help and support.

Canadian Mental Health Association Alberta Southeast Region would like to offer our community access to LivingWorks Start online suicide prevention program at no cost!(ONLY FOR SOUTHEAST ALBERTA RESIDENTS - see below for more details)

About this training:

LivingWorks Start is an online, skills-based suicide prevention training program that anyone can learn in as little as one hour. Accessible from any computer or mobile device, the program features realistic audiovisuals and powerful e-learning technology. It also offers customizable elements based on users’ profiles and needs, and provides quick access to support and safety resources. Trainees learn life-saving skills to keep their family members, friends, co-workers, and others safe from suicide.

Who can access this training:

LivingWorks Start teaches valuable skills to everyone 13 and older and requires no formal training or prior experience in suicide prevention

A limited number of registrations are available for community members of Southeast Alberta (Medicine Hat, Brooks, Bassano, Bow Island, Foremost, Irvine, Oyen and surrounding areas) at no cost.

If you are not from Southeast Alberta you can access this training for a cost from LivingWorks @ https://www.livingworks.net/start.

How to enroll in this free training:

Register on Eventbrite between September 10th to September 29th, 2021 and you will receive an email enrolment from LivingWorks with a link providing access to this training on October 1, 2021.

This training is provided free to Southeast Alberta residents at no cost thanks to funding from FCSS and the Government of Alberta.
