The Community Helper Program helps identify and train Alberta youth and young adults (ages 12–30) as well as adults who support this age group (teachers, coaches, employers, etc.) The program provides opportunities to strengthen support skills, learn about mental health issues and suicide prevention. It enhances programs that reduce the risk of suicide and encourages youth and young adults to ask for help when they need it.
The Community Helpers Training is best suited for those not currently working in the mental health field but that are interested in mental health support and suicide prevention.
In order to access this training, you must be a resident of southeastern Alberta.
